Frank Traylor
CEO
Frank co-founded of Terra Health Care Labs and Agriscience Labs, and he led the acquisition of CMT Laboratories. He has served in executive management and board roles for over two decades, performing turn-around, growth, and both buy and sell side transactions.
Frank was CEO and Chairman at VisionTEK, a mobile software company selling to the public sector. Prior to VisionTEK, he was CEO and Chairman of Lifeloc, and he also served as a director of two non-profits and the independent director for TruTouch Technologies.
Frank has a BS in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University and an MBA from the University of Denver.
Jeff Lowry
Technical Director
Jeff has an MA in analytical chemistry and a BS in chemistry from Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo.
With over 30 years of senior laboratory management experience, he has background in running all facets of an analytical laboratory: management of staffs of chemists, scientists, technicians, and support personnel; resource management and planning; budgeting; strategic planning and assessment; and implementation of new analytical tools and procedures.
He has been involved with cannabis testing industry since 2015, and he was a member of the original Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment Cannabis Pesticide Work Group. He also holds membership with the American Society for Testing and Materials, the American Chemical Society, and several past technical subcommittees in the NELAC Institute. He joined the ASL team in 2019.
Bryan Cousino
Supervisory Analyst
Bryan grew up in Michigan, just west of Detroit, and attained a degree in Chemistry from Lyman Briggs College at Michigan State University.
After graduation, Bryan traveled to Omaha and worked as a quality chemist for biodegradable plastics in a large scale corn milling bio-refinery for 2 years before moving to Colorado.
Bryan joined our team in 2016, and he has gotten experience in all areas of the lab since that time.
As a lifetime athlete, he enjoys playing and coaching soccer in his free time, as well as snowboarding and skiing in the mountains.

Nic Bertollt
Analytical Scientist
He attended Colorado University in Denver, where he got a BS in biology and a minor in chemistry. His science background is in clinical laboratories, toxicology, and Next-Generation DNA Sequencing.
In his free time, he is a professional home brewer, drummer, and improv performer.
Carly Bader
Supervisory Analyst
Carly was born in Suffern, New York.
She attended the University of Central Florida, receiving her BS in molecular biology and microbiology, and her MS in biomedical sciences, with a specialty in infectious disease.
She has a background of 8 years in cholera toxin research, extensive stem cell research into metabolic disorders, and 3 years of being a biology and microbiology professor for pre-medical students.
Carly has also always been an avid concert goer and music lover.
Chris Hennings, MS
Analytical Scientist
Chris was born and raised in Ponca City, Oklahoma.
He attended Oklahoma State University, receiving his BS in microbiology and his MS in food science, using PCR to detect antimicrobial genes in bacteria naturally found on food.
Chris moved to Denver in 2014 and worked for TestAmerica as a metals analyst for three years before joining ASL in 2018.
In his spare time, he cooks and bakes, hikes, and ferments his own sauerkraut and ginger beer.
Eric Cummings
Supervisory Analyst
Eric is originally from Phoenix, Arizona but has been here in Colorado since 2010.
Eric graduated from the University of Colorado with a BS in biochemistry. After graduating, he worked at Cardinal Health, conducting quality control tests for cancer-screening drugs.
Despite being a newcomer, Eric is excited to be a part of helping this important and exploding industry get on its feet on a national level by helping Colorado lead the way.
In his free time Eric likes to play drums, fly World War II flight sims, snowboard, and hike.
Jared Mastin, MS
Analytical Scientist
He attended the University of Colorado, Denver to get his BS in biology.
Before joining ASL in 2018, Jared was a research assistant at Denver Botanic Gardens, where worked on population genetics for a conservation project.
He also enjoys brewing beer, gardening, and spending time with his 20-year-old pet Tortoise.
Nate Davidson
Analytical Scientist
He graduated with a BS in chemistry from University of Minneapolis in 2013.
After working as an analytical chemist, he moved to Denver in 2017, and he joined ASL in 2018.
He enjoys guitar, hikes, cats, and travel.
Maia Stokes
Analytical Scientist
In 2017, she received her BS in biomedical sciences from the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs,
Before joining ASL in 2018, she worked in the pediatric cardiology field.
Her weekends are filled with hiking, yoga, and spending time with her cat, Leonardo Decattio.
Steven McClain
Laboratory Technician
In 2018, he graduated with a BA in biochemistry from the University of Colorado, Boulder. In 2019, he joined the ASL team.
Steven has experience in analytical lab work and synthesis chemistry, but he also enjoys to snowboard, play guitar, golf, and read.
