AgriScience’s Lab Manager, Ryan Kobylarz, PhD, was chosen as the key speaker for a Purple Communications‘ continuing education workshop, Understanding the Cannabis Industry: A Deaf Insider’s Perspective.
Purple created the webinar for those using sign language within the cannabis industry.
Since legalization has taken off, we’re starting to change the way we talk about cannabis. There’s new vocabulary, scientific terms and slang words to use when shopping for cannabis, which can be intimidating, even for lifelong users. For consumers who are deaf, it becomes even more problematic. Cannabis dispensaries don’t have to comply with ADA standards, so this workshop will demonstrate and demystify the vocabulary and concepts of cannabis from a deaf perspective.
