{"id":1702,"date":"2018-01-26T20:59:57","date_gmt":"2018-01-26T20:59:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.cmtlaboratory.com\/?p=1702"},"modified":"2018-01-26T21:24:20","modified_gmt":"2018-01-26T21:24:20","slug":"feb2018","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/agrisciencelabs.com\/staging\/industry\/feb2018\/","title":{"rendered":"Testing regulations change again on February 1, 2018"},"content":{"rendered":"<header class=\"entry-content-header\"><\/header>\n<div class=\"entry-content\">\n<p>On February 1, 2018, Colorado will update several testing regulations.<br \/>\n<!--more--><\/p>\n<h4>Medical cannabis products will require testing for contaminants.<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cmtlaboratory.com\/tests\/micro\/\">full micro panel<\/a>\u00a0will be required on medical flower, edibles, topical, non-solvent-based concentrates, and remediated solvent-based concentrates. The full panel consists of total yeast and mold, shiga toxin-producing E. coli, and salmonella.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.cmtlaboratory.com\/tests\/rsa\/\">Residual solvent analysis<\/a> will be required on medical solvent-based concentrates.<\/li>\n<li>You may pursue process validation for both of the above tests to avoid testing every batch. Read more about the 1\/1\/18 process validation regulation updates on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cmtlaboratory.com\/industry\/medbulletin1709\/\">an earlier post<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>The scope of residual solvents is expanding and maximum limits will change.<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>The new residual solvents that will be required are acetone, ethanol, isopropyl alcohol, pentane, and propane.<\/li>\n<li>Solvent limits will be adjusted as follows:\u00a0acetone &lt;1000 ppm, benzene &lt;2 ppm, butanes &lt;1000 ppm, ethanol &lt;1000 ppm, heptanes &lt;1000 ppm, hexane &lt;60 ppm, isopropyl alcohol &lt;1000 ppm, pentane &lt;1000 ppm, propane &lt;1000 ppm, toluene &lt;180 ppm, and total xylenes &lt;430 ppm.<\/li>\n<li>If you were process validated for residual solvents before February 1, you must test first three production batches of solvent\u2010based concentrates to residual solvents to maintain your status.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>AgriScience Labs was just nationally recognized for all of the preceding tests.<\/h4>\n<p>We <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cmtlaboratory.com\/press-releases\/agriscience-awarded-4-emerald-badges-top-performing-lab\/\">recently received three Emerald Awards<\/a> for national recognition of both our residual solvent method and our microbial methods, so you can count on our results to be accurate, consistent, and reliable.<\/p>\n<p>Our team can gladly help walk all of our new partners through the new regulations.
